Voluspa is a nation ruled by the New Voluskar Order, a belief system that serves as both church and state. Founded by Voluspir Valdriksen, who claimed divine vision as his right to conquest, the Order colonized the fertile heartlands and drove the native Illvyrkians into the harsher lands to the east. Its armies remain formidable, strengthened by the warrior priests of the Fifth Order, yet Voluspa is often regarded by outsiders as rigid, superstitious, and backward. Its devotion to doctrine leaves little room for progress, and though its military power endures, the nation lags behind rivals such as Fyrisia and Asteron in industry and innovation. To its faithful, this steadfastness is proof of divine favor. To others, it is the mark of a people bound by zealotry.
